A woman is injured after being shot by police in the Upstate, over the weekend. That shooting happened around 11PM Sunday, when the Spartanburg Police Department responded to a disturbance call on Kensington Drive at Georgetown Luxury Townhomes and Apartments.
The Police Department says, when officers arrived the woman pointed a handgun at an officer, who then shot her. Officers rendered first aid and the woman was taken to a hospital, where she later died.
The identity of the deceased has not been released ,as of this time. The officers involved are on administrative leave while SLED investigates the shooting which is standard protocol.
