We keep thinking that there is nothing that 2020 could throw at us that would surprise us anymore, right? This year has already been pretty crazy.

And just when you think that...pink pineapples show up and have you questioning your own existence.

No, these are not yellow pineapples dyed pink, they are actually grown to that color. Introducing the Pinkglow Pineapple, a genetically modified fruit created by the company, Del Monte, known for its little fruit cups.

Del Monte has been working on the new fruit since 2005 and finally perfected it! The company promises the pink pineapples are sweeter and juicier than traditional pineapples, and the Internet is now calling it the most Instagrammable fruit. Imagine a mimosa or a delicious dessert topped with a pink garnish?! Yeah, that'll bring in a lot of likes on social media! It makes sense why the company is referring to their creation as the "jewel of the jungle."

The Pinkglow Pineapple takes two years to grow in the jungles of Costa Rica and then they are hand-picked and arrive in the US without the crown because that is then used to replant in order to cultivate the next crop.

It's a pretty lengthy process to produce one Pinkglow Pineapple, which is probably why they cost $49 each. Yes, you read that right, $49 for a pineapple! But hey, it'll look sweet on Instagram! Maybe it's worth it? Do it for the 'gram!

The new fruit is only available online and you can purchase one HERE.
