(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) is looking into an officer involved shooting on the West Side.
It started at South Central Park Ave near Old Route 66 in the Lawndale neighborhood on Sunday around 10:45 a.m.
An officer responding to a burglary exchanged gunfire with suspects at multiple locations during a foot chase.
The suspect was eventually hit and later pronounced dead at a hospital.
The officers were taken to an area hospital for observation.
A weapon was recovered.
