CAMPTON HILLS (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Far west suburban Campton Hills has placed its police chief on administrative leave.

The village announced Monday that Police Chief Steven Millar was placed on paid administrative leave pending the resolution of an Illinois State Police investigation.

The subject of the investigation is not yet known.

The village said Millar will report to duty during this leave nor will he participate in any work-related activities. He however has agreed to cooperate with State Police’s investigation.

Sergeant James Leveland will take over as Campton Hills’ interim police chief. He has worked for the department for the last eight years.
