"Together, we must rise to the challenges of protecting our values and defending our Democracy," Underwood said. "If there's one thing I know about all of you here with me, we are not surrendering our country to these people."

Underwood is a registered nurse by profession. She has been in support of the Inflation Reduction Act dealing with prescription drugs and legislation to help a Native American tribe reclaim stolen land.

Kendall County Board President and Chairman Gryder was elected to the Kendall County Board three times. Gryder has said he is “pro-life,” but would not ban abortions in some cases. He has also said that mass shootings could be addressed as a mental health crisis.
