(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Chicago police on Monday distributed surveillance images and videos of a person they’re seeking in connection with the weekend killing of Police Officer Luis Huesca.
Two pictures distributed by the Chicago Police Department appear to show the same bespectacled man on two different occasions, wearing different clothing. Video of the subject posted to YouTube shows the individual at a gas station mini mart wearing a dark backpack.
Detectives believe he was in the area of 56th and Albany in Gage Park on Sunday morning.
Police say they’re looking to identify the subject in connection with Huesca’s murder but did not offer additional details.
Huesca, who would have turned 31 this week, was killed early Sunday in the 3100 block of West 56th Street as he was arriving home after his shift.
Authorities have said he was wearing his uniform.
FOP Lodge 7 President John Catanzara has said the officer was shot during a carjacking.
WBBM's Nancy Harty contributed to this report.
