The Rush University Health Network wants to expand its cancer treatment capabilities in the western suburbs.
The health system wants to build a new cancer treatment center in Lisle. The 55,000 square-foot facility would offer the latest technology in diagnostic imaging as well as infusion therapy, radiation therapy, supportive oncology and lab services. Urgent cancer care and a pharmacy will also be part of the new center.
A spokesperson for Rush said the new location would streamline access to treatment and make continuing care more convenient for people living and working in the western suburbs.
The plan still needs to get the green light from the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board.
