UPDATE: 2 men injured in plane crash near DeKalb

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Two men were hospitalized after the single-engine airplane they were in crash-landed in a farm field in far west suburban Cortland, near DeKalb, Thursday afternoon.

At 12:45 p.m., the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office announced that Cortland firefighters and paramedics were responding to the scene of the crash along the Lincoln Highway.

Records obtained by flightaware.com showed the plane was on a flight from Evansville, Ind., with two people on board when the aircraft went down behind a business at 260 W. Lincoln Highway.

The sheriff's office said both men were hurt in the crash and were transported to Northwestern Kishwaukee Hospital in DeKalb.
