LEXUS NX 300
BOB JACKSON| ENTERCOM ATLANTA

If you don't need three rows, it's had to imagine that you won't find what you need in Lexus' NX 300.

Unlike its bigger brother, the RX, Lexus' NX has been on the US market for a little less than five years now.  And while the NX is Lexus' top-selling SUV in space-challenged Europe, the RX outsells the roughly ten-inch-shorter NX almost two to one here in the US.

But if you really don't need the third row and slightly larger cargo capacity of the RX, the NX is probably going to give you all the Lexus that you need…and want…and maybe more.

More?

Yes.  The "N" in NX stands for nimble.  In fact, while Lexus makes the expected "F-Sport" version of the NX, the high $30's base NX already feels "sportified".

Contributing to that sporty feel is Lexus' first turbo…a 2.0, 235 HP four said to go 0-60 in just a fraction over 7 seconds and deliver an EPA 22 City and 28 Hwy MPG.

So here's some of what you get for a little under 40 thousand:  a 6-speed auto, 17" alloys, Lexus' Safety System which includes passenger detection, pre-collision warning, lane-departure alerts, auto high-beams, dynamic radar, Google voice control, Siri eyes-free, Apple and Alexa compatibility, and power folding mirrors.

Do you want All-Wheel-Drive?  We had it in our test NX…and it's only $1,400 more.

That said, it took another 11 thousand to give us everything that we've come to expect in a Lexus.  That included things like 18' alloys, two-tone heated and ventilated leather, moonroof, heated steerinp_g, wood trim, power folding rear seats, a 10" display, killer 10-speaker audio, intuitive parking assist, a kick-activated power rear door and a bit more.

The net result?  The NX 300 is a five-seat, five-door SUV that can hold its own against any of its competitors while drawing admiring looks along the way.
