Frank Ski Recognized By The Governor Of Georgia And Senate With A Resolution

V-103's Frank Ski met with the Governor of Georgia Brian Kemp this morning and was recognized for his contributions to the community in educating the public. The Pro Tempore Senator Butch Miller and the State senate awarded Frank Ski with a Resolution. This is the first Resolution awarded to a Radio Broadcaster in the State of Georgia.

Recognizing and commending Frank Ski on his outstanding work in the entertainment industry, and for the purposes.
WHEREAS, Frank Ski has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for his contributions as radio, television, and film personality; motivational speaker; journalist; and philanthropist; and
WHEREAS, having been called "a rainmaker of urban radio," Frank is best known for hosting THe Frank Ski Show for the past three decades; and
WHEREAS, with a distinctive style and sense of humor, Frank balances music with celebrity guests and discussions of culture and topical issues of local and national importance; and
WHEREAS, Frank's career began in Washington, D.C., as a disc jockey for Breakers' Delight, only the third program in the country with an all-rap rotation; and
WHEREAS, after working in Washington, and later, Baltimore, he moved his morning show to the Atlanta station V-103, where it became the top-rated morning program over both locally programmed shows and syndicated shows; and
WHEREAS, Frank's roster of celebrity interviews cover a wide range of actors, athletes, musicians, and elected officials from Stevie Wonder, Michael Jordan, Jay-Z, T.I., and Young Jeezy to President Bill Clinton and President Barack Obama; and
WHEREAS, Frank create The Frank Ski Kids Foundation to provide financial assistance to low-income youth applicants and youth-serving agencies to expand opportunities for educational, athletic, and cultural learning; The Frank Ski Kids Foundation has provided once-in-a-lifetime experiences for children, including all expenses paid excursions to Rome and Florance, the Amazon, and Ecuador, as well as annual events such as the Youth Bowl and Kids Week; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE, that members of this body recognize and commend Frank Ski for his contributions to the entertainment industry and philanthropy and extend since best wishes for continued health and happiness.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Frank Ski.
