The stay-at-home suggestion around Atlanta has left some of the cities busiest locations eerily empty. In specific, the city's Midtown and Buckhead area is known for its hustle and bustle. On any other Friday, streets would be packed with workers coming and going from office buildings, getting coffee, snacks or lunch. Atlanta is also notorious for its bad traffic, but today it looked like a scene out of an apocalyptic movie as no one can recall when the I-85 interstate has ever been this solemn. Here are some pictures that were taken of Midtown, I-85 and a local grocery store.
At local grocery stores, the shelves are being picked bare. The coronavirus is spurring panicked shoppers to stock up on products ranging from food to cleansing wipes to peanut butter as they prepare to hunker down in the midst of the growing pandemic.
