Atlanta baseball fans have another reason to celebrate. Andruw Jones, one of the most iconic players in Atlanta Braves history, has officially been elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
Jones earned 78.4% of the vote in his ninth year on the ballot, surpassing the required threshold for induction. He will be enshrined during the Hall of Fame induction ceremony in July 2026 in Cooperstown, New York.
Known as one of the greatest defensive outfielders the game has ever seen, Jones built a legendary career with the Braves after debuting as a teenager in 1996. Over his career, he was selected as a five-time All-Star, won 10 consecutive Gold Glove Awards, and finished with 434 career home runs.
Jones was a key part of the Braves’ historic run of division titles in the late 1990s and early 2000s and helped lead the team to a World Series championship in 1995. His combination of elite defense, power at the plate, and postseason performances made him a fan favorite in Atlanta and a feared presence across Major League Baseball.
For Braves fans, Jones’ induction is more than a personal milestone, it’s a celebration of an era that defined Atlanta baseball. His legacy now takes its rightful place among the greatest players in the sport’s history.
Congratulations to Andruw Jones, officially a Hall of Famer.
