Last night, the BET Awards stage wasn’t just lit—it was on fire with Atlanta energy, swag, and legendary talent. From the moment the curtain rose, the 404 and 770 made their presence felt in a big way. And at the heart of it all? V-103’s own Big Tigger, the voice of the culture, and Swamp Izzo, the city’s most trusted party starter, both playing pivotal roles in an unforgettable night.

Big Tigger Brings the Basement to BET
You know it’s official when Big Tigger steps in the booth. Last night our very own Big Tigger took us down memory lanes as he brought a piece of Rap City: Tha Basement to the big stage to celebrate BET’s 45 anniversary. Assisted by Kid Capri, Ludacris, and Kevin Hart’s rapper alter ego, Chocolate Droppa Big Tigger made us remember why we fell so in love with Rap City and BET.

Tigger also shined on the big stage! As a former 106 & Park host, he participated in the segment honoring the iconic video countdown show.

Swamp Izzo Put On With Playboi Carti
Swamp Izzo popped out during Playboi Carti’s performance of Rather Lie, their hit song that also features The Weeknd. It was as if you heard the whole city cheering for this V-103 DJ who has done so much for the ATL’s culture and new artists. Swamp had his big moment and the city was proud to cheer him on. Whether you were in the building or watching from home, the vibe was unmistakable: this was Atlanta’s moment.

From performances to tributes, ATL artists showed out.

Ludacris popped out with Babyface to honor Jamie Foxx in a rendition of “Unpredictable.” Luda also blessed the booth with Big Tigger during the Rap City: Tha Basement tribute part of the show.

The ATL’s adopted uncle Tyler Perry (he’s originally from New Orleans, but has been adopted by the ATL for all he does for the community) also had a memorable moment during last night’ show when he spoke about black legacy and introduced “Black Woman” a song performed by Ledesi that is also featured in his Netflix hit movie “Straw.”

A Celebration of the Culture Capital
Whether you call it the “Hollywood of the South,” the “Black Mecca,” or simply home, last night’s BET Awards proved what we at V-103 already know: Atlanta doesn’t follow trends—we set them. And with Big Tigger and Swamp Izzo leading the way, the city’s stars—and its storytellers—shined the brightest.
