Thanks, GM. We Needed This.

Here’s why:

If you haven’t noticed, the average price of today’s new vehicle is just a hair North of 50K….and almost 20% of us are paying over $1,000 / month to drive that shiny new metal.
That may not be a deal breaker for you, but it sure is for me.
So Welcome, ENVISTA!

Yes….America has been waitin’ for another good twenty-something vehicle ever since Ford brought us it’s smash hit Maverick pickup back in ’22.  The Maverick is a great vehicle, BUT…not everyone wants a pickup, and even if you do, today’s Maverick will run you 5 – 10K more than the ’22 version.

So if you’re not familiar with the name yet, Buick’s Envista debuted last year as a brand new 4-door compact crossover.   It could be easily called a hatchback, but it’s slightly elevated as are most of today’s vehicles.

And it starts right around $25,000.

But price is not the Envista’s only claim to fame.   CONTENT is what makes Envista’s price so remarkable.

The Avenir is the top of the line Envista…and there’s not much missing.   Here’s a sample of what you get for $29,400 plus transportation:

Keyless remote start

An 11” screen

Faux leather

Voice command

Noise cancellation

Dual rear USB ports

A leather-wrapped, flat-bottomed heated steering wheel

Rear park assist

18” alloys

Power rear liftgate

Our test Avenir added a couple of packages that gave us a moonroof, rear cross-traffic alert, heated folding outside mirrors, adaptive cruise, and lane-change and blind spot alerts.

All in, our Envista Avenir had a bottom line of $32,385.
The 137 HP 1.2 liter turbo is the only engine offered….and you probably won’t need more.  In spite of those modest figures, the Envista eagerly squirts foreward when prodded.

Mileage is rated at 28 MPG city and 32 Hwy.   I averaged 29.5 in my week-long commutes…with a high of 39 on one “grandpa” run.

As you’d imagine, GM gave the Envista a couple of “Corporate Cousins” over on the Chevy side.  They’ll run a thousand or two less…but come with less standard features.

There are a hundreds of vehicles that offer more space, luxury, and performance, but for $25,000 - $32,000, there’s not many that pack in more overall value than Buick’s new Envista.
