It's the holiday season and I don't know about you, but one of my favorite things to do is watch holiday movies. Yes, they can be corny at times, but I love the nostalgia and the warm and fuzzy feeling some of these movies evoke. So check out my list of classic holiday movies, grab a cup of hot cocoa, snuggle up on the couch, and enjoy.
Best Man Holiday
Taye Diggs, Nia Long, Morris Chestnut, and the rest of this star studded crew get back together to reprise their career-launching roles in the next chapter to the film that ushered in a new era of comedy. When these college friends reunite over the Christmas holidays, they will discover just how easy it is for long-forgotten rivalries and romances to be ignited.
Preacher's Wife
This Christmas classic starring Whitney Houston, Denzel Washington, Courtney B. Vance follows an angel who is sent to earth to help the family of a preacher find their way through a tough time, but things get interesting when he seems to fall for the preacher's wife.
Candy Cane Lane
This is a newer Christmas movie that I stumbled upon on Amazon Prime last year and I LOVE! This movie stars Eddie Murphy and Tracee Ellis Ross. In the movie, a family is determined to win a Christmas decorating contest and defeat a rogue elf before they face harrowing consequences.
This Christmas
This movie features a star studded cast that include Lorretta Divine, Idris Elba, Chris Brown, Regina Hall, Delroy Lindo, and more. The movie focuses on the Whitfield Family as they have their first holiday gathering in four years resulting in some family secrets coming to light.
Last Holiday
Queen Latifa and L.L. Cool J light up the screen in this feel good holiday romantic comedy. In the movie, Queen Latifa shines as Georgia, a woman who is told that she has a rare brain condition and she only has weeks left to live. She then sets out on an adventure to spend her remaining funds on a luxury holiday in Europe before she dies.
Friday After Next
This the third installation of the Friday series, and in this one, Ice Cube and Mike Epps, aka, Craig and Day-Day move back to the hood where they find jobs as security guards. In true Friday fashion, their day is filled with antics at every turn as the cousins find themselves barely getting through the day as a bad Santa, a parking lot pimp, and a holiday party causes things to go all the way wrong.
