Diddy will not be going home anytime soon now that the judge has denied his bail. Judge Arun Subramanian ruled that the music mogul will remain in custody while he awaits sentencing.

One reason that the judge denied bail was that according to the Bail Reform Act, defendants who been convicted must prove that they do not post flight risks or danger to the community to be released in the interim. Prosecutors argued that Combs did not meet that burden and provided letters on behalf of two witnesses who were worried about the danger Combs might pose upon release. Cassie's attorney supplied one of the two letters.

Judge Subramanian also said that Diddy's propensity for violence that often takes place behind closed doors, was another reason for him to deny bail.

All sides have been ordered to return to court on Oct. 3, but the date could move up if Diddy's team chooses to expedite things.

The defense is seeking a term of 21 to 27 months, while the government hopes for 51 to 63 months. Diddy will get credit for the time he has served so far.
