The Falcons are in the middle of turning over their roster. The team is looking to end their playoff draught and become a powerhouse in the NFC once again. Bringing in Kirk Cousins, Darnell Mooney and Rondale Moore were a great first step in doing so. The one downside for the team is now they will have to manage their cap space and be very critical of who they take in the upcoming draft.
The team also needs to be conscious of which players they hold onto and which players will find their next home elsewhere. The team decided to bring back several key lineman on both sides of the ball in Kentavius Street and Storm Norton. One player who will definitely be on the roster in 2024 is A.J. Terrell. The question becomes will be in a Falcons uniform for the long-term?
Terrell is due to make just over $12 million dollars this season before he would become an unrestricted free agent. The team needs to decide if it will pick up his 5th-year option as well as the potential of a contract extension. Top corners in the league demand around $18 million per season and the team needs to decide if Terrell falls into that range. Terrell has shown flashes of brilliance over his career but has not produced elite-level results the previous two seasons. He has tallied only four interceptions over his career (although some of that can be contributed to other teams not throwing his way).
