In a recent development, announced by Variety, New Edition— Ronnie DeVoe, Bobby Brown, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Ralph Tresvant and Johnny Gill— signed with Creative Artists Agency and will be headed to an arena near you in the coming year.
CAA will oversee the group's music career and will serve as their representation for anything related to "touring, theatre, literature, TV/Film, production, and composing." In addition to representation, New Edition will also headline a "30 arena tour," according to a statement.
Since their debut in 1984, New Edition is regarded as one of the most iconic R&B groups in history. They have a slew of platinum-selling albums and multiple awards. In 2017, they released their three-part biopic, The New Edition Story, which drew in over 29M viewers and they snagged the Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards.
New Edition is also one of the few groups to have sparked several successful solo careers from its members— Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill, and Bell Biv DeVoe.
