No! That was Abe Gordon’s response to the thought of the Atlanta Braves engaging in trade talks with the Washington Nationals for All-Star outfielder, Juan Soto, who turned down the team’s offer of a 15 a year deal worth $440 million. Following Soto turning down the offer, the Nationals made it known that they would be willing to listen to trade offers for their All-Star.

Naturally, talks of whether or not the Braves should jump into conversations with Washington for Soto began to take place and for Gordon, host of the Abe-TL show on Sports Radio 92-9 The Game, the answer was no. “The Braves should not be involved in discussions for Juan Soto,” Gordon said, noting that he believes that whatever deal Soto eventually settles on, it will be worth $500 million.

On top of the amount of money Soto would garner, to which Gordon does not believe the Braves would pay him, he also believes that if Atlanta did consider trading for Soto they would have to give up too many of their younger player, which he believes are too valuable to the team. “In terms of a boat load of Braves’ prospects, I get it. You just came off of a World Series though. I really don’t think you need to get desperate now,” Gordon said. Click link above to hear segment in its entirety.
