It may not be a record the Atlanta Braves will be proud to hold, but the club achieved a historic mark after last night’s win of the Washington Nationals to get back to a .500 record at 21-21. By doing so, the Braves are only the fifth team to ever reach a .500 record after an 0-7 start. And they did it faster than all but one team – the 1945 Red Sox – who did it four games faster.

Helping the Braves Tuesday night was second baseman Ozzie Albies breaking out of a career-worst 0-28 slump with hits in each of his last two at-bats. Second-year starting pitcher Spencer Schwellenbach notched his first win in his previous six starts.

The Braves will hope to continue padding their record against the Nats after having taken the first two in the four-game series. The teams will play each other five more times in the next eight days.
