Breaking news came down on Monday as the Atlanta Hawks are reportedly trading Forward John Collins to the Utah Jazz for Rudy Gay & a future second-round pick. This news comes off the heels of GM Landry Fields appearing on Dukes & Bell on Friday discussing the state of the team and the potential for some pieces to be moved.
Collins has averaged 15.8 PPG and 6.5 total rebounds in his six seasons in Atlanta. His production, however, has decreased over the last few seasons as his usage and shot attempts have waivered.
36-year-old Rudy Gay averaged 5.5 in 15 minutes per game across 56 appearances last season in Utah. He will either be a player off the bench for Quin Snyder or will be used as a trade chip with an expiring deal after this season.
