Andy & Randy were joined by Atlanta Braves Manager Brian Snitker last week, who was fresh off of leading the Braves to a 5th straight National League East title.

During the course of the interview Snitker talked about everything from where this division title ranks against the other ones, how Spencer Strider is coming along, the growth and maturity of Michael Harris II and the advantage that the Braves have playing in front of their home fans at Truist Park.

The conversation with Snitker turned towards Acuña’s health, what winning the NL East meant to him this year and being back in the playoffs after missing last year’s World Series run with a knee injury.

“It was really good when we DH’d him all those games. I think that allowed that knee to kind of catch up. Honestly you are not going to see him 100 percent until we get to spring training and he has a normal off-season. But he is feeling really good now, he is running good…the bat is coming around but he still has to get through this year. You know what, a percentage of Ronald (Acuña) is better than none,” Snitker replied when Randy asked him about Acuña’s health.

Snitker was then asked by Andy about how Acuña felt being on the field at the end of the season for this division title: “When I saw replays of him catching that last out to win the division and the smile on his face before the ball even got there. I know a part of it is just like God I’m glad I am on the field for this. You know what I mean? He has to be so jacked up to go into the playoffs and be able to compete. You know it’s like you better look out because lord knows what this kid might accomplish here in this new playoff season,” Snitker replied.

The Braves will host the Philadelphia Phillies for Game 1 of the NLDS at Truist Park tomorrow, Tuesday October 11th with the first pitch scheduled for 1:07pm. Max Fried will be the starting pitcher for the Braves while the Phillies will be sending Ranger Suarez to the mound.

Andy & Randy will be broadcasting live from Murph’s from 11a-2p on Tuesday October 11th. Dukes & Bell will be broadcasting live at Murph’s on Wednesday October 12th from 2p-7p.

You can hear Andy & Randy Monday-Friday from 11a-2p on 92.9 The Game.
