On Wednesday, the Atlanta Braves were handed their second straight loss as the San Francisco Giants defeated them 9-3. The loss is Atlanta’s fifth in the past seven games and puts them at 44-57 on the season and sitting in fourth place in the National League East and 14.5 games back of the first place Phillies.

Following Wednesday’s loss, Spencer Strider, who was the losing pitcher, reportedly said the Braves’ season has been ‘embarrassing’, included his own outings, like Wednesday’s in which he allowed three runs, including two homeruns, on five hits.

In addition to Strider’s comments on the Braves’ season, the Atlanta pitcher also shared that players have had conversations among themselves in which they apparently agreed there would be a chance some of them may be traded due to how poorly things have gone this year.

“Reality check,” Mike Bell said as he and Carl Dukes shared thoughts on Strider’s comments. “I appreciate it because it’s honest. You know, he’s not sitting there trying to blow smoke,” Dukes said as he shared why Strider’s comments are felt by Braves’ fans as well. “He is owning exactly what we have been talking about,” Dukes said.
