The Atlanta Falcons, back in April, made Kyle Pitts the highest drafted tight end in the common draft era. Pitts has a lot of things going for him in this offense.
As of right now, he has one of the best players in team history in Julio Jones. He also has Calvin Ridley, Hayden Hurst, and Russell Gage. Some would say that there just aren’t enough footballs to go around for the names listed. Head coach Arthur Smith might just have something to say about that. It is going to be hard for opposing defenses to focus in on stopping one guy, which forces them to play honest.
With that in mind, it makes you wonder whether or not Kyle Pitts has a legitimate shot at winning offensive rookie of the year. Jon Chuckery thinks that it is going to be very difficult for Pitts to do that. "He would have to be Tony Gonzalez or what Travis Kelce is now" Chuckery said.
If Smith is going to focus on spreading the ball around, then Pitts could possibly see more targets come his way due to all of the attention going elsewhere. It just all boils down to Pitts living up to most of the hype that comes with being the 4th overall pick.
