Justin Fields will find out where he will play football next season very soon. On Tuesday Bears GM Ryan Poles said the team will “do right by Fields” and make a move to either keep him as QB 1 or trade him. The buzz around Atlanta picked up Tuesday night after an NBC Sports report stated the Falcons & Bears have had dialogue surrounding Fields.
Both sides have stake in making a move quickly. The Falcons need to know if their QB will be coming from the free agent pool, the draft or the trade market. The Bears need to know if they will be trading the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft or using it to take their next signal caller. It remains unclear exactly how much the Bears want back in return for their former No. 11 overall pick three seasons ago.
Falcons fans await a decision with great desperation. Social media arguments have been set ablaze on whether or not Fields should be the next franchise quarterback for the Falcons. But if the Falcons do not choose to go for Fields, there are still plenty of good options at QB. As our own Carl Dukes likes to say, however, many fans are clamoring to “bring him home”.
