The future is now for Braves: 3 signs of life from Atlanta's first half

The responses to Ronald Acuña's injury have been all over the place. Logical-thinking people believe that the Braves have the roster to make a push to win the National League East division.

Also, there are some fans that believe that the season is over.

But Jon Chuckery believes that the Braves can get their self together and compete. "The future is now," Chuckery said. The Braves still have the face of the organization in Freddie Freeman.

Before the break, Freeman showed signs of getting back to his normal self.  He has 19 home runs and 50 RBI, and currently has a .274 batting average. Charlie Morton and Drew Smyly have shown that they can hold down the fort for the starting rotation.

With the veterans on this roster being productive, the question now is whether Alex Anthopoulos feels the same way. If he does, the answer will be revealed by the type of moves made at the trade deadline.
