The headline for the Braves was not their 14-4 victory over the Rockies on Monday night. Unfortunately, the main takeaway was the incident involving a pair of fans running onto the field and accosting Ronald Acuña Jr. Thankfully the MVP candidate was okay despite falling onto the ground during the incident.

Security was slow to react during the incident despite previous incidents in other cities having their teams rush onto the field in a moment’s notice. Previous moments in Kansas City and Los Angeles have gone viral, but for different reasons. The incident in Colorado has taken the internet and television sets by storm because of how much potential danger the situation could have caused.

Dukes & Bell feel strongly that there needs to be steep consequences for fans that run out onto fields.

“First things first is get the man immediately away from him,” Mike Bell exclaimed. “This is something you could be an alarmist over.
What if Ronald turned his knee when he fell over?” he added.

“In this day and age to have professional athletes on the field, the one thing you need to do is protect the guys,” Carl Dukes explained.
