The Atlanta Falcons are back in first place in the NFC South, and the Falcons defense and offensive line dominated on the field yesterday. Earlier today The Morning Shift broke down how Atlanta’s defense and offensive line really carried the team to a victory.

Later on in the show former Falcons quarterback and now Falcons Radio Network Analyst, Dave Archer, said the offensive line was “mauling” the Saints’ defensive line. Jessie Bates getting a pick six, forcing a fumble that Zach Harrison recovered, and the offense going on a 95-yard touchdown drive after that turnover speaks for itself.

Atlanta’s offense had a 10 play 78-yard touchdown drive, a nine play 95-yard touchdown drive, and a 10 play 54-yard drive that included nine straight run plays before Younghoe Koo kicked the game sealing field goal.

The Falcons defense didn’t give up a touchdown to the Saints and scored one themselves, and the offensive line’s dominance allowed Atlanta to rush for 228 yards yesterday, so it’s quite clear that those two areas for the Falcons paved the way for their victory.
