The Falcons' youth movement is apparent, especially on defense, with half of Atlanta's secondary being rookies, along with a pair of rotational pass-rushers with big expectations. Between a number of other impact pieces being in just their second season, including QB Michael Penix, whether the Falcons achieve their goals this season could come down to the performance of those newcomers.
"They're relying on so many young guys, at some of the most important positions in football, quarterback and nickel," says Midday Host Randy McMichael. "You still have good veterans, Rah(eem) has had success with a team this young, replacing those veterans, they got to play well."
"The headline leading into this year could very well be, The Falcons will go as their young guys go. With how many young players they have at important positions, probably the biggest storyline leading into the season, cause you can include Penix in that too," says Andy Bunker. "If the young guys play like young guys, there's a pretty good chance six weeks into the season we're having some tough conversations."
