With the Atlanta Falcons falling to 3-3 on the season following their 20-10 loss to the 49ers on Sunday night, if there was one word to describe the team’s identity, 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes and Mike Bell believe “inconsistent” would the best way to describe how the Falcons have been performing this season.

“I think you could argue we’re a very, at times seemingly poorly coached team with some of the fundamental mistakes that cropped up,” Bell said, explaining why he believes the Falcons’ offensive struggles throughout the season to this point are related to poor game strategy in some cases.

“The idea was, they’re going to try and stop the run game. I mean we know it, fans know it, did someone at Falcons headquarters not know that that was going to be the plan,” Bell continued as he questioned the Falcons preparations for the 49ers defense.

“I want to believe that we’re something that we’re not quite yet. “I want to believe that this team is going to be really good, but I’m not. I want to believe that our quarterback is going to be really good, but I’m not. And I want to believe that the coordinator is going to turn the quarterback into the guy that we need him to be, but I’m not,” Dukes said agreeing that the Falcons have been too inconsistent for him to believe they are a team that will be one of the best in the NFL this season.
