All your work is apparently not done, even if you voted early in the runoff for U.S. Senate in Georgia. The election is today with incumbent U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock facing Herschel Walker.
Listen: LaTosha Brown says young voters are pushing the engine for democracy
Listen: LaTosha Brown quotes a famous Atlanta Rap song while explaining the importance of this election
LaTosha Brown with Black Voters Matter Fund encourages those that participated in Early Voting to push others to head to the polls today. "Call at least 5 people. The folks in your household, your neighbors, your friends, your ex-girlfriend or ex-boyfriend, even your ex-husbands, we need to make sure that we're out to vote today." According to Brown, "We've got to send a message that Georgia deserves more, and if we deserve more, we've got to go to the polls today and make a choice on who can actually help bring what we need to the state of Georgia so we can move forward."
Brown is hoping for continued record voting after Georgia's new election law shortened the Early Voting period from 2 weeks to 1 week. She believes that it further bolsters the claim centered around voter suppression. "We actually have to break records today, Election Day. Our children's future depend on it."
