With the Atlanta Falcons kicking off mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, any questions or doubts about Kirk Cousins being present were answered as the veteran quarterback arrived in Flowery Branch and was a full participant in activities as he prepares to begin the season as the backup for Michael Penix Jr.

“The good news is Kirk Cousins is on board with what needs to be done,” 92-9 The Game’s, Carl Dukes said as he and co-host, Mike Bell discussed Cousins and his comments as he spoke with media and addressed his role this season.

“What needs to be done is our focus as a football team needs to be about how good we can be and can we get to a Super Bowl,” Dukes continued as he and Bell reacted to Cousins telling reporters he plans on focusing on helping the Falcons achieve their goal of winning the Super Bowl, and providing Penix Jr. with as much assistance as possible to help him be successful in his second season.

“My thing with Kirk Cousins’ comments today is he understands he doesn’t need to be a distraction and he’s not going to be and he’s going to be on this team Mike and I’m for all those things he said,” Dukes said as he shared why he believes Cousins will be onboard with whatever role the Falcons need him to play this season, even as a backup.
