Falcons 'can't expect Michael Penix Jr. to come in and do it all'

While the page has turned to Week 3 for the Atlanta Falcons, the Monday announcement of Michael Penix Jr. being named the starting quarterback against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday has provided some form of hope to their fanbase after the team was led by less than desirable quarterback play in their losses to the Pittsburg Steelers and Carolina Panthers.

“I don’t care what you think about Michael [Penix], he is capable and he’s shown us already he’s capable of doing the job,” 92-9 The Game’s Carl Dukes said as he and cohost, Mike Bell, discussed why they believe Falcons fans should be encouraged in regards to Penix Jr. preparing to make his season debut.

“Can he do it consistently and not be injured? That’s really the question as we move forward,” Dukes said, noting that while there may be some concern in regards to Penix Jr.’s ability to effectively execute the Falcons offense, “there have been other problems,” with the unit. “We have to find other things that will help out Michael Penix Jr. in this attempt. He just can’t come back and do it all,” Dukes said.
