As of right now the Atlanta Braves still have a chance to sign Shohei Ohtani, but Braves Insider Grant McAuley told The Morning Shift Wednesday that he doesn’t see Ohtani coming to play for Atlanta.
A decision from Ohtani should be coming soon, and then this can all get put to bed. But as McAuley pointed out in the interview, what it will probably take to get the coveted MVP, Alex Anthopoulos has never been known to do business that way. Ohtani is a generational player, but there’s no indication that Anthopoulos will start changing the way he does business now even for the unicorn that is Shohei Ohtani.
