Audacy.com NBA insider Ryan McDonough joined Dukes & Bell for his weekly appearance on the show and talked about what changes need be made to the Hawks during the offseason to make the team a legitimate title contender.
When asked about the team making a trade to improve the team.

“I think generally that’s the next step for the Hawks and something Travis Schlenk and his front office will look at and that is consolidation, they have a number of good players. They have talent and depth, they have pretty good contracts and flexibility there,” McDonough said. “But they also have a roster that’s going to get expensive, and that’s what happens when you have success especially a team that went to the Eastern Conference finals a year ago and gave big contracts to Trae Young and John Collins. Obviously Trae Young’s not going anywhere but if you look beyond Trae they have a number of decisions to make.”
McDonough talked about the Hawks need for another superstar.
“The Hawks have a number of good players but can they bring in one more elite player to go alongside Trae, I think that’s something they will explore and have to explore this offseason.”
