After failing to become a fifth starter option for the Braves out of Spring Training, pitcher Ian Anderson was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett. But his struggles have continued.
Anderson made just one start in the minors this season, unable to finish the first inning after allowing 6 runs and three home runs while only recording two outs. Now some of the issues with Anderson have been revealed
Anderson made his Braves debut in 2020 and had six starts that season, followed 24 starts for the Braves in 2021 and 22 starts in 2022. But he was left off the Braves postseason roster amid shoulder issues.
It's a significant loss for the Braves who have multiple contributors from previous seasons in Michael Soroka and Kyle Wright all working their way back to form.
Kyle Wright is going to make his season debut tonight for the Braves against the Cincinnati Reds.
