If the Braves win a World Series, will Chris Sale be one of the key reasons?

Chris Sale dominated his former team on Wednesday night to the tune of six shutout innings and 10 strikeouts in the Braves' 5-0 win over the Boston Red Sox. The performance offered a glaring reminder there's still lots of gas left in the tank for the 35 year-old ace.

The offseason addition has brought a certain flair to an already strong rotation, and Steak Shapiro is confident that he could be a key reason that the Braves go deep into October.

"Chris Sale's value to the Braves is incredibly high," Steak said on Thursday. "He could be the factor of why you win a World Series. The acquisition of Chris Sale could literally be the transaction that wins a World Series for the Atlanta Braves."

Pairing him with a strong bullpen and a lineup who is capable of going off at a moment's notice, the Braves will once again be the leader in the clubhouse as a championship favorite.

While it's nearly impossible to judge the virtue of a trade after only two months of the season, the Braves must be feeling good about adding the esteemed ace to their rotation for the price of a backup middle-infielder.

"There's a long-term plan with Vaughn Grissom and you can't judge a trade in the first six weeks, but it is funny to watch Chris Sale go out and completely dominate the Red Sox," Shapiro finished. "Vaughn Grissom, he played, but has kind of been somewhat of a non-factor [for the Red Sox this season]."
