929. The Game Atlanta Braves insider Grant McAuley joined Dukes and Bell for his regular appearance on the show and talked about why a trade for Shohei Ohtani to the Braves isn’t realistic, just how good has Kyle Wright been this season, plus why Eddie Rosario could be the key to another Falcons postseason run.

When asked where Eddie Rosario is as he comes back from eye surgery.

“The Braves need Eddie Rosario flat out to be somewhat close to the performance that he was last year. Because if you think about all of the roster contstruction needs that the Braves had last winter, yea they had several outfielders to hit free agency but Rosario is the guy they brought back on a two year deal for eighteen million dollars and this has been a lost season to this point for him,” McAuley said. “Outside of just different isolated events and things of that nature, running or not running some of that I think a lot of the optics we sit and talk about it more than it gets talked about in the clubhouse. But there are certain ways that you obviously want to be seen as a performer and a competitor who is always out there giving it everything but what I saw on the field and results wise was an Eddie Rosario who’s swinging the bat better.”

Grant said that Eddie Rosario is a key to another Braves postseason run.

“The loss of Adam Duvall magnifies the importance of Eddie Rosario, because he is going to get the at-bats against right handed pitchers, now finding somebody to compliment him, to help replace Adam Duvall as far as a trade is concerned, I think is a priority to the Braves. In the midst of all of this, we can talk about all of the trades and the rumors and the candidates and all that stuff, Eddie Rosario performing is a key to the Braves in the second half as they look to chase down the Mets and get themselves back in October and go on a run again.”
