The Atlanta Falcons introduced their new defensive coordinator, Jeff Ulbrich, to the media Monday and after that he joined 92.9 The Game Midday Show hosts Andy Bunker and Randy McMichael and broke down the adjustments he's planning to make to the defense.
"There's no great defense that ever existed without the ability to rush the quarterback and affect the quarterback," said Ulbrich. "That's absolutely priority number one. Great defenses have great players, I'm not some magical coach. There's a lot of really good players here and we need to develop and feature them as best we can."
The Falcons were dead last in the NFL in sacks up through their bye week in Week 12 and came out of the bye week and were among the league leaders in sacks the remainder of the season. The team has shown some ability to get to the passer, but now need to do so more consistently and in ways that impact the game.
