Dr. Jamal Bryant says Jovita Moore should be remembered as 'a lamp post for this generation' because "she didn't do it for social media she did it because she cared."
The well-liked longtime news anchor at WSB TV in Atlanta died a week ago after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer 7 months prior.
Dr. Bryant, Senior Pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, tells
Audacy Atlanta's Maria Boynton that he will deliver the eulogy at the service for Moore on Friday. The service is private and is for family and close friends. "I count it a treasured honor" says Bryant, adding that he often prayed with Moore during her illness. "She was my sister, my friend, my confidant."
Many stood in the rain outside the Gregory B. Levett and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur Thursday to say a final 'goodbye' to Moore. Public visitation was held from noon until 8pm.
