Amid all the build up to Super Bowl LVIII, National Insider for NFL Network and NFL.com Ian Rapoport reported that the Chicago Bears want a ‘historic haul’ for the number one overall pick, indicating they may want to draft Caleb Williams and trade Justin Fields. Earlier today The Morning Shift reacted to this report and explained what this means for the Atlanta Falcons.
Right now all signs point to Justin Fields being on the trade block, so if the Falcons want him they should be able to go get him. Now, the two big questions are will the Bears want the Falcons eighth overall pick for Fields, and will the Falcons be willing to give up their eighth overall pick for Fields?
Beau Morgan says he wouldn’t give up the eighth overall pick to get Fields because he wouldn’t give up the eighth overall pick for a guy another team has given up on, but as the old adage goes, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, so if Fields is Raheem Morris’ and the Falcons’ guy then they have to do whatever it takes to go get him.
