As the nation marks King Day, Hosea Helps CEO Elisabeth Omilami says we all need "an awakening to realize we're all connected." Omilami is the daughter of the late Hosea Williams, who worked very closely with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Among Dr. King's quotes is ""Life's most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?" Omilami tells Audacy Atlanta's Maria Boynton what happens to a hungry child in another community "affects your child." According to Omilami if we all just work together and towards being the brotherhood that Dr. King wanted, a communitythat takes care of each other would become a reality.

Hosea Helps is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, and provides various assistance programs including food, rental, and employment.

We spoke with the Hosea Helps CEO as she was preparing for the King Day Food and Supplies Distribution event.
