Tonight is the night that we can put all the speculation, rumors and smoke screens to rest as the 2021 NFL Draft will commence live at 8:00 p.m in Cleveland, Ohio.
What hasn't been much of a secret leading up to the draft is who the Jacksonville Jaguars will select with the No. 1 overall pick, and that would be quarterback Trevor Lawrence out of Clemson.
This year's draft features a standout quarterback class, led by Lawrence. Zach Wilson, Justin Fields, Trey Lance and Mac Jones will all be round one draft picks. Where they go, and who is the most talented is the question.
Wilson is reportedly being sought after by the New York Jets at No. 2 but everyone is curious who will be drafted after. The San Francisco 49ers were rumored to be interested in Jones up until recently. Lance's name has also come up. Will the Atlanta Falcons draft a quarterback at No. 4?
Hall of Fame quarterback, and NFL Network analyst, Kurt Warner joined the Midday Show on Wednesday with his assessment of the 2021 quarterback class. You'll be surprised to learn it's not Lawrence who he believes is the best QB in this year's draft.
"I think Trey Lance--when you look at the entire body of what they can do from a quarterback perspective--he may be the most talented of all these guys," Warner told Andy and Randy.
"I also think he's the most raw of all these guys, so it's hard to project--okay, he now has to do the most work. Can he get there? Can he grow to the point where he becomes the best of these five?"
Warner said it's anyone's guess with what any of these top quarterback prospects will turn into.
"I don't know which one's going to be what. I've gotta see what they do and how they grow at the next level. (There are) things to like about all of them, things that you can say 'hey, that's a little bit of a red flag' with all of them. But to me, Trevor Lawrence has the least amount of those questions, so I like him the best."
