Early on in The Jon Chuckery Show, Chuck gave his three best non-quarterback prospects the Atlanta Falcons could draft with the No. 4 overall pick. Chuckery has been making it clear since the Falcons clinched the No. 4 overall pick that he thinks the best-case scenario for the Dirty Birds is to trade back and acquire more draft picks. However, as the draft has been getting closer and closer Chuckery says “there are three guys that I’m coming around to the idea of the Falcons drafting them at 4.”
1.) Kyle Pitts: TE-UF
Chuckery is coming around more and more to Kyle Pitts. Chuck says “I’m really starting to come around on the idea of drafting Kyle Pitts.” Not only would Pitts make an already-potent offense with Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, and Calvin Ridley even more potent, but Jon really likes the matchup problems the Falcons offense could create with opposing defenses if Pitts is in the mix saying “I’m really coming around to the idea of the matchup problem that Kyle Pitts could create.” Jon made a good point when he was talking about Kyle Pitts where he basically says that with Hayden Hurst only having one year left on his deal if the Falcons draft Pitts they could have a cheaper and maybe better version of a Travis Kelce type talent. Expert NFL and College Football analysts such as Todd McShay, Brian Baldinger, and Daniel Jeremiah have called Kyle Pitts a freak of nature, and the best receiver and talent in this draft. With that being said, it’s safe to see why Chuckery is saying this “I’m really coming around to the idea of that if the Atlanta Falcons draft Kyle Pitts at four, I wouldn’t be too upset at that pick, and I could get behind that pick.”
2.) Penei Sewell: T-ORE
While the Falcons offensive line isn’t their biggest hole on the team to date Jon Chuckery says drafting Penei Sewell would “give you a lot of flexibility and options.” If the Atlanta Falcons do draft the Left Tackle out of Oregon Chucker’s plan for him would be to put him at right tackle keep Chris Lindstrom at left guard, make Matt Hennessey the new center as planned, keep Jake Matthews and his newly restructured contract at left tackle for the time being, and you guessed it move Kaleb McGary to left guard. However, once the time comes Chuck says he basically would obviously see the Falcons swapping Penei Sewell and Jake Matthews once Jake loses a step or two, and once Penei Sewell gets accommodated to the NFL. Penei Sewell is undoubtedly a big-time talent and Chuckery says drafting Penei Sewell would be “another big piece to cover a big hole for this team.”
3.) Micah Parsons: LB-PENN
Chuckery has standout linebacker from Penn State Micah Parsons at No. 3 because he says “I’m not real high on him, but he makes more sense at 4 than a Quity Pey.” However, Chuck does believe that in this Dean Pees defense the Falcons will need linebackers that can run and blitz saying “You want linebackers that can run and blitz and Parsons can certainly do that.”. However, it does go without saying that a linebacker group of Deion Jones, Foye Oluakon, and Micah Parsons could be one of the most elite linebacker groups in the NFL.
At this point no one truly knows what the Atlanta Falcons are going to do, but with the number four overall pick whether the Falcons draft a quarterback, trade back, or draft one of these three guys, it will be hard for new head coach and general manager Arthur Smith and Terry Fontenot to get it wrong, and that is reason for optimism for all Atlanta Falcons fans.
