The DeKalb County School District is hoping to fill more than 1000 jobs when it hosts a career fair on Tuesday, June 20.
New Life Community Alliance is hosting the hiring event. Alliance COO Michael Bryant says "there's a big need for employment in South DeKalb."
Just last week the Georgia Labor Department announced the unemployment rate for the state is at 3.2%. According to Bryant South DeKalb's unemployment rate is around 18%.
Positions available include DeKalb County School teachers, administrative, food service, custodians, paraprofessionals, bus drivers, public safety, emergency response and more. "If you have a need, show up," says Bryant, "because they probably have a position to fit your skill set."
The DeKalb County Career Resource Mobile Unit will also be available to help career seekers with resumes and application support. The event is being held in Building 10 on the New Life Church/New Life Community Alliance Campus located at 3592 Flat Shoals Road, Decatur GA 30034.
