Sonya Portier is breathing a sigh of relief after her 18 year old son Tyson Evan Williams has been located and is safe.

According to Albany Police Department Public Information Officer, Phylis Whitley-Banks, Williams is no longer the subject of an extensive search of offers. Banks added that his parents were contacted that Williams is safe in Atlanta.

Before Williams was located, Portier described her 18 year old son Tyson as "a wonderful and sensitive child." While he has a few friends, Portier says "he pretty much keeps to himself."

Portier became concern after says she had not heard from Tyson Evan Williams since speaking to him Friday afternoon.

"The bus was full, so we talked about him coming home (to Decatur) Saturday instead."

According to Portier, her son hasn't been seen since around 2am Saturday morning at a store near the campus of  Albany State University where he is a freshman.

Williams is a 2020 graduate of Miller Grove High School in DeKalb County.
