Felicia Moore advances to runoff in race for Atlanta Mayor; Dickens claims second place

Moore held a substantial lead over the nearest vote getters Andre Dickens and Kasim Reed who battled for second place in the runoff.

With 40 percent of the vote Felicia Moore easily advances to the runoff in the Atlanta mayor's race. The election was held Tuesday. There were 14 candidates vying for the position in Atlanta city government.

Moore's opponent in the November 30th runoff remained unclear for much of the night as Andre Dickens and former Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed ran neck-and-neck. That was until Dickens declared himself victorious.

In an interview with Audacy Atlanta's Maria Boynton shortly after clinching a spot in the runoff, Moore said it didn't matter who her opponent was because "I'm going to be ready for whoever it is."

Dickens claimed in an interview with Atlanta television station 11Alive that he was able to skirt past Reed when a few hundred votes came in from neighboring DeKalb County.

Dickens spoke to Boynton as he and Reed duked it out for second place.

With most of the votes counted Reed wound had 22% of the vote. Mayoral candidate Sharon Gay coming in a distance 4th place with 7%. She was followed by Antonio Brown with 5% and Kenny Hill with 1%.
