“It’s on - 4/23/21… dis 4 my second home… let’s rap..” Yachty wrote on IG, announcing the EPs release.
Clocking in at 40 minutes, the 14-track mixtape features a boatload of new faces from the Great Lakes state, including Sada Baby, Babyface Ray and RMC Mike. Also on the “dock”et, Tee Grizzley, Veeze, Baby Smoove, Louie Ray, Swae Lee, Icewear Vezzo, Rio Da Yung OG, Baby Tron and Krispy Life Kidd, Slap Savage and YN Jay.
Yachty’s love for all-things Michigan is no secret, “I found a love for Michigan, you know what I’m sayin’? The city itself is just a vibe that’s unmatched,” he said in a video he posted one day before the drop, referring to Detroit specifically.
For Yachty it’s knot just the city he has love for, he continued, "I established this relationship. This fam with all these guys, all throughout Michigan, not just Detroit, tryna put them in a pedestal, give them a platform that they may not hav had before.”
Since May 2020’s Lil Boat 3, and leading up to his latest release, Yachty’s been keeping busy. Doing everything from teaming up with Kodak Black on Lil Boat 3.5, venturing into the world of cryptocurrency, doing his Lil Dicky aka David Burd thing and working on a series loosely based on his life with HBO Max. And last but naut least, a collaboration with REESE’S PUFFS, which resulted in the creation of a toy speed boat, that if you’re pool chillin’, can deliver you a bowl of cereal via remote control, (uhhh how fire is that?).
