NBA players need to play pickup ball in the summer, too.

Throughout the past few weeks, we’ve seen elite hoopers taking part in pro-am competitions, tournaments and pickup games throughout the country. On Monday, the NBA Twitter feed shared footage of Steph Curry and Trae Young balling with the Rico Hines crew in Southern California.

They weren’t just playing against some regular Joes off the street, though, as 2021 No. 1 overall pick Cade Cunningham and members of the UCLA men’s basketball team also competed. Not to mention that Young has often been compared to Curry due their wiry statures and otherworldly shooting.

There’s something cool about seeing NBA superstars in t-shirts and shorts, just running in a gym like everyone else. Imagine getting an up-close look at Curry just two months after he won his first career Finals MVP and fourth career title.

Imagine trying to lock up Curry and Young on defense? It’d probably be embarrassing for all of us.

The Warriors are set to kick off training camp on Sept. 24, so Dubs basketball is coming back soon.
