The 2021 NFL Draft has come to a close. Terry Fontenot and Arthur Smith have completed their first draft as a tandem. There are a lot of people that want to jump at the opportunity and grade how they think the Falcons did as an organization. The bottom line is that we truly won't know what this class is until they put the pads on this summer.
One of the more interesting storylines for the Falcons was what they did not do on draft night. They did not take a quarterback with either of their nine draft picks.
Jon Chuckery thinks that the message is very clear about what Matt Ryan's future is with this team. "Isn't is obvious now what their thoughts about Matt Ryan are?" Chuckery said.
Based off of the reading of the tea leaves, it pretty clear that Fontenot and Smith are settled with Ryan being around for the next few years. The confidence that they have in Ryan makes sense because the best way to make a good impression in your first year is to win football games.
